Pierpont-Soetebier Youth Sailing Fund Established

Doc Pierpont and Jack Soetebier are credited with establishing the Trans Superior Race in 1969. These men were a major influence on the development of sailboat racing on the western end of Lake Superior. As a way to remember and honor their lifelong accomplishments, especially as they relate to "The Trans," a permanent capital fund has been established to benefit the Duluth Superior Sailing Association, a 501c3 organization. www.sailingforall.org.

For a limited time, anyone donating $100 or more will receive a 2007 Trans Skipper’s hat (the one only the skippers received) signed on the bill by both Doc and Jack.

Please send any donations to DSSA by following the link to their website. The kids appreciate it.
